Summary :
Operative choledochoscopy is a simpler procedure that
can be easily learned and practiced by many surgeons at
the time of common bile duct exploration. It is now well
established in biliary tract surgery and is considered as an
integral part of common bile duct exploration. It provides
a better evaluation of intracholedochal pathology. It also
provides an effective, safe & easy method of dealing with
problem of stones in the intrahepatic branches of the bile
duct which results in an almost negligible incidence of
retained ductal calculi. Choledochoscopy was done in 25
